CREATIVE ROOTS AND EARLY EXPLORATION

Rebecca Art is a non-professional Manchester-based artist, illustrator and visual storyteller whose creative journey began in childhood. Her early works included soft pastel and watercolour seascapes.

TRAINING AND INTERNATIONAL INFLUENCE

She studied at Les Ateliers Beaux-Arts in Paris, attending weekly classes for several years. Later, in Athens, she exhibited twice through εργαστήρι ζωγραφικής and worked across mixed media, life drawing in charcoal, and still life painting in soft pastel and acrylic and later evolving into collage influenced by the Dada movement and poems by C.P. Cavafy. Since returning to the UK, her focus has returned to watercolour then moving towards sumi-e inks, and digital art.

CREATIVE BUBBLES AND POETIC ILLUSTRATION

Rebecca is Co-Founder and Illustrator of Creative Bubbles by The Randoms, an illustrated poetry collaboration launched in April 2025. The series pairs original verse with expressive artwork to explore themes of love, relationships, loss, and other human emotions. Her portrait Foolish Brave Girl layers multilingual text and portraiture to capture resilience and vulnerability.

COMMUNITY AND ONGOING STUDY

A lifelong learner, Rebecca continues to explore new techniques and styles. Most recently, she studied Book Illustration through Chelsea College of the Arts, working with ink, wash, fine liner, and collage. She also leads a global online community of over 6,500 digital artists using Procreate, encouraging exploration, experimentation, and fun in the creative process.

PRACTICE AND INSPIRATION

Her landscapes, such as Milatos Secret Beach and Edge of the Wild, reflect a deep connection to nature and place, while In My Dreaming brings movement and atmosphere into a narrative space. Whether working digitally or in traditional media, Rebecca’s work invites reflection and emotion, always seeking to capture the small, meaningful moments that shape us.
